Activities for the day included Fire Marshal training in cooperation with Chubb Fire Ltd., detailed risk assessments of working stations and a series of training sessions in Health and Safety related standard operating procedures. But Health and Safety skills are also easily transferred to our private lives; an introduction to basic First Aid skills, backed up by mock incidents, and a no holds barred Health MOT were on offer. All the presentations and training sessions were very interesting and informative, and the discussions afterwards were good.
The day also included a fun and interactive Wii ten-pin bowling competition. Mike Frost, the highest scoring player, was presented with the top prize of a remote control helicopter at the end of the tournament. Also everyone who collected six event stamps or more was entered into a draw for a bottle of champagne – Kevin Gooding was the lucky winner. All in all, the event was a tremendous success and great fun was had by all.
Jim Smith Managing Director said: “This is the third time Saint-Gobain has held a day to highlight the importance of health and safety. Ensuring a safe working environment for employees is a key objective for Saint-Gobain, and the day is a great way of reinforcing key messages while having fun at the same time.”
