Basler’s newest Application Note, EX-NEBB, focuses on the NEBB, a six model series of voltage regulators designed by ABB Oslo in the 1970s. There are an estimated 5000 units currently operating in the world, mainly in marine and offshore applications and some on-shore generators.
Now, products or parts replacement have become extremely difficult to obtain. Basler offers a solution either using the existing exciter or replacing it.

· To replace the SF regulator, Basler offers a DECS-200 mounted in a cabinet and equipped with an MVC 300 (manual voltage control) to provide an additional manual back up device. The second option is a complete conversion of the brushless system to a static operation with a DECS-400.

· Basler also offers a DECS-200 on a mounting plate as a replacement for the GX 300 and GX 500 (introduced in 1986 as replacements for the NEBB voltage regulators).

In either solution, the DECS-200 and DECS-400 offer superior functionalities and capabilities that enables users to extend the life span of generators and better protect them from harmful conditions.

The Application Note is downloadable free of charge from the Technical Resource section of the Basler web site - http://www.basler.com/html/dwnapps.htm. In addition to Application Notes, this section offers easy access to product documentation.
